NORWALK — The Common Council Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs Committee is expected to vote on the replacement of the surface for the six tennis courts at Brien McMahon High School for a cost not to exceed $435,000. The bid will go to a Woodbury-based company, Classic Turf Company LLC.
Classic Turf, which bid $400,000, was the lowest of three offers, with the highest being $534,555, according to city documents. The additional $35,000 will go toward drainage work.
The committee is also expected to vote on the $43,524 bid for the renovations of three Calf Pasture Beach softball fields, according to the agenda. Renovations on the softball fields are expected to begin in March 1 and be completed by April 30.
The construction will be done by the Bridgeport company Diamond Landscapes and Athletic Fields. Diamond Landscapes was the lowest of six bids, with the highest being $60,000.
