Bases Loaded was created by former Major League Pitcher Jim Neidlinger in 2010 after working at several area fitness facilities for 17 years. Jim’s vision was to create a facility where area students could improve their skills in a strictly baseball/softball-only facility. When the doors first opened in 2010, Bases Loaded had 6 instructors and at peak time, there were approximately 100 kids in programs. Over the last 9 years, Bases Loaded has grown exponentially, and the success of their students is a testament to the hard work of the players and vast knowledge of the instructors. The way baseball and softball players train has changed dramatically over the years and Bases Loaded instructors have grown and adapted, including the implementation of the Rapsodo hitting and pitching system, while always keeping the basic fundamentals that every player needs to be successful.
Bases Loaded and their premier travel organization, the Bases Loaded Bulldogs, is about developing not only the complete player, but developing great teammates and human beings – everything that comes from instructors and coaches who have the firsthand experience and knowledge to pass on and this is evidenced by their players’ success.
In the past 5 years, Bases Loaded has produced 6 Gatorade Players of the Year between baseball and softball. In 2019 alone, not only did Bases Loaded have both softball and baseball Gatorade Player of the Year, but we had more than 30 players who were on teams competing for a State Championship.
Bases Loaded has continued to produce top level players because our instructors and coaches not only have competed at high levels, whether it be college or professionally, but we continually work as a cohesive group to share our knowledge to make every student better.
About the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs teams were created to provide opportunity for a higher level of competition for talented and motivated area baseball and softball players with a commitment to the improvement of their skills, while instilling discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, honesty and integrity. Our program focuses on consistent hard work and striving to become a better ballplayer. We provide each player with the opportunity to learn, develop and improve their baseball and softball skills on a regular basis.
Baseball and softball are games that requires players to develop the ability to overcome mistakes and to look forward to their next opportunity. In order to do this, we promote and encourage an ownership attitude – where the players learn to take ownership for their own development rather than blame others or make excuses. Teams will work hard to win games; however, the development of skills, playing at a higher level and team focused play will be the guideline for our program.
Every player will have an equal opportunity to participate and develop. This does not equate to equal playing time. Actual playing time will vary based on positions played, roster size, and other circumstances. Coaches will use judgment in balancing the needs of individuals and the needs of the team.
